A five-member Cabinet sub-committee has been formed to recommend to the State Government on continuation or closure of the tenure of the Karnataka Lokayukta’s Special Investigation Team, which was constituted to probe illegal mining in the State.
The committee is headed by Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J.C. Madhuswamy. Other members of the panel are Public Works Minister C.C. Patil, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Waters S. Araga, and Mines and Geology Minister Achar Halappa Basappa, said an order.
