Four nights of live music will be held this week in the heart of East Belfast.

C.S Lewis Square, off the Holywood Road, will be hosting a wide array of different musical acts this week featuring everything from country music tributes, 80s classics and local DJs and musicians.

The shows will be part of the ongoing Eastside Arts Festival which will see 80 different events take place in East Belfast over an 11 day period.

The festival is also celebrating it's 10th birthday this year.

From Thursday, C.S Lewis Square will be hosting four nights of live music as part of the festival, starting with a show by CASH RETURNS - The Johnny Cash & June Carter Tribute Show, which has been hailed as the finest tribute act to the pair in the UK and Ireland.

The show stars JP Mac as Johnny Cash and Karen Martin as June Carter, who were recently crowned Best Tribute Show at the 2022 'Northern Ireland Country Music Awards', for the second year running.

This will be followed by some of Northern Ireland's most inspiring, alternative voices on Friday, who have been brought together by Dig With It, a quarterly magazine from Belfast that champions music, arts and counter-culture.

It will see New Pagans, Lemonade Shoelace and Winnie Ama take to the stage with a broad mix of different genres in what is sure to be a brillant night.

On Saturday, The Night Institute returns to C.S. Lewis Square for Eastside Electronics where Timmy Stewart & Jordan Nocturne will be joined by Ponyhawke and new talent, Buru, for a night of fun and dancing.

On Sunday, the festival will close on its final night with "pure 80s musical heaven" for four hours.

Gary Myles (Downtown Breakfast Show) will be spinning the greatest tracks of the 80's on the night before introducing Maurice Jay's Pleasuredome to officially end the festival.

Director of the EastSide Arts Festival, Rachel Kennedy said: "We are delighted to invite everyone to join us as at this year’s EastSide Arts Festival as we celebrate our 10 th birthday.

"As always, we are bringing festival goers a jam-packed programme of events that celebrate the people and places of east Belfast and encourage connection and celebration.

"The festival provides us with the opportunity to showcase the very best of east Belfast as a place of creativity, a place that is vibrant and a place that is welcoming."

Tickets for the shows on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12, will be £15 each, with those on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14, costing £18.
