Work has started on a new structure at East Belfast's C S Lewis Square .
On Monday, workmen started constructing Built East, a temporary structure at the Newtownards Road entrance.
It will be open at all times to the public and will provide a sheltered venue for outdoor activities.
In a statement on their Facebook page, Connswater Community Greenway said on Monday: "Works begin today on Built East which will be a temporary structure placed at the entrance to the C S Lewis Square. The construction is expected to last two weeks and please expect some minor disruption during this time.
"Once complete, the structure will be open at all times to the public and will provide a sheltered venue for outdoor activities.
"Built East was the winning design in a competition run by the RSUA - Architects in Northern Ireland and JP Corry.
"It takes inspiration from the Belfast roof as a way of celebrating the city’s industrious spirit, which feels especially appropriate in an area that became home to so many workers in the city’s docks and factories."
