C.J. McCollum stands up to Skip Bayless after their Twitter beef gets promoted for FS1 content

Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless has spent the past year stubbornly hating Kawhi Leonard for forcing his way out of San Antonio. On Sunday, Bayless’ act got so tired that Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum jumped in to stand up for Leonard, telling Bayless to “give it a rest.”

Bayless didn’t directly respond to McCollum. Instead, he hoped to turn the Trail Blazers guard’s reply into standalone content for Monday’s edition of Undisputed on FS1.

Just in doing so, Bayless set McCollum up to dunk all over him for a second time in a day. Bayless misspelled McCollum’s name, and C.J. took notice.

Good on McCollum for standing up to Bayless without directly playing into the FS1 personality’s game.

Bayless would have loved for McCollum to keep tweeting about him or even go on his show. That was probably the entire goal behind the tweet — fueling more FS1 content. By focusing on Bayless’ typo, McCollum can easily move on while Bayless comes out of the exchange looking like someone who is desperate to fill airtime.

Come Monday, Bayless was back to his regular antics and still refusing to say Kawhi’s name. He did manage to spell McCollum’s name correctly, though.
