Men’s Basketball
BYU Men’s hoops is on the road to Malibu, California, take on Pepperdine tomorrow in the Firestone Fieldhouse. Tip off is at 9 p.m. MST.
This game will be aired on ESPN2.
Along with that, for the second time in a row, Guard Yoeli Childs has been named the WCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
According to WCCSports.com:
“Junior forward Yoeli Childs led BYU to wins over Portland (79-56) and Santa Clara (80-74) while averaging 27.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 60.0 percent from the field, 55.6 percent from 3-point range and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Against the Pilots, Childs totaled 28 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and one block.”
Women’s Basketball
The women are currently undefeated in conference play. They return home for a couple games this week to host Gonzaga on Thursday. Game tips off at 7 pm.
And Saturday the women take on Portland game tips off at 2 p.m. all of this.in the Marriott Center.
In the midst of being undfeated, BYU sophomore guard Paisley Johnson had something to do with it this week. Johnson earned the WCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for January 14, 2019.
According to BYU Athletics:
“The honor is the first for Johnson and the second for BYU this year.
She guided the BYU team to a perfect 6-0-league record, scoring at least 20+points in both road wins this week.
At Pacific, Johnson tied for game highs with 24 points along with three assists, two rebounds and one steal in 38 minutes. She went 2 of 4 from 3-point range and 6 of 8 from the free throw line.”

Men’s Volleyball
No. 5 Men’s Volleyball heads over to University Park Pennsylvania to play Penn State. The match begins at 7 p.m.
Track & Field
And Men’s and Women’s Track and Field are in Colorado this Friday for the Air Force invite at USAF academy.
Women’s Tennis
Along with track and field, the women will be up in Ogden to face in-state foe Weber State University on Friday. The match begins at 10 a.m.
Women’s Gymnastics
Women’s Gymnastics will also be up north in Logan, Utah Friday where they will compete against Utah State University. The meet begins at 7 p.m.
