Byron names 18 restaurant branches that will reopen for outdoor dining on April 12

Burger chain Byron has announced plans to reopen 18 outlets from April 12, in line with Boris Johnson's four step exist strategy to ease the country out of lockdown.

The chain, which is amongst the first to comment on the government's provisional return date for UK hospitality businesses, said it will join forces with Brooklyn beer bars from spring this year.

Burger fans across the country will be able to visit one of 18 outlets reopening in mid-April - however, government guidelines mean you won't be able to sit inside to eat and drink until May 17 at the earliest.

The chain will team up with Brooklyn Brewery to offer outdoor drinking in conjunction with restaurant reopenings.

Restaurants will be open until around 10pm - Byron said it is now taking bookings for April.

Byron said it has seen a "big pick up in bookings" since making the announcement on social media.

It posted a picture of Ross from Friends eating a snack with the caption: "to eat in a real restaurant again? Bookings now open. Link in bio."

Under Covid-secure guidelines, pubs and restaurants will have to offer table service and face masks must be worn by staff and customers when not sat at a table.

Pubs will also be allowed to offer takeaway pints, something which was banned during lockdown.

Plus, the Government has scrapped the hated 10pm curfew and punters won't have to buy a "substantial meal" either when they order an alcoholic drink.
