Byron Burger in Edinburgh set to close restaurants as company on brink of collapse

Byron Burger is set to go into administration after coming into financial trouble.

According to BBC News, the burger chain is in talks with potential buyers in a last-ditch attempt to save the business.

Byron Burgers has two restaurants in Edinburgh's City Centre on Lothian Road and North Bridge.

A source told the BBC that the burger chain needs an investor to buy "parts of the business" in order to downsize the operation as possible.

It is likely that the business could go into administration in the coming days, leading to Edinburgh potentially losing two restaurants and people losing their jobs.

The BBC also reports that the company planned to have a 'phased re-opening from mid-July' but if they do re-open it will be a much smaller business.

KPMG an accountancy firm has reportedly been trying to sell the business since May, but there is a "growing concern" for the future of their 52 UK restaurants and their 1,200 staff members.
