Cheshire hygiene group Byotrol said its annual results are now expected to be "substantially ahead" of the previous year following "exceptional demand" for its sanitising technologies due to the pandemic.
The Daresbury-based firm said in a trading update on Thursday that turnover is expected to be over £11m, with adjusted EBITDA over £1.7m, compared to last year's respective figures of £6.1m and £300,000.
The AIM-listed firm said the "strong result" reflected large demand for its technologies across all markets due to the pandemic, but also a shift towards the importance of infection prevention in all its markets, which it expects to continue into the new financial year and beyond.
Chairman John Langlands said: "This was a good result, delivered in extraordinary market conditions. We believe that our business is now very well positioned to serve the post-pandemic world.
"Our strategy means that Byotrol will deliver further growth and profitability in coming years, and will continue to build on the reliable and increasingly visible income streams it has developed over the last couple of years."
The statement to the market on Thursday also said revenue for the year includes a contribution of over £0.9m from licensing and intellectual property transactions.
"Among them are an agreement with Merseyside firm Turtle Wax Europe, which has licensed its surface sanitisers for the continent's automotive market, and with South African firm Byoworks for its technologies for distribution in sub-Saharan Africa.
The firm said it is now debt-free, having paid down an invoice discount facility of £0.3m during the year.
Its directors remain "highly confident" in continued growth in the industry, reflecting "clear changes" in infection-prevention needs and in behaviours across the consumer, corporate and institutional worlds.
