Byelection: No victory rally after result in Huzurabad, says Election Commission

HYDERABAD: Telangana chief electoral office has banned victory processions after counting on Tuesday.

CEO Shashank Goel issued orders stating that only two persons will be allowed along with the winning candidate to collect the certificate from the returning officer.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has made elaborate arrangements for the counting of votes on Tuesday. The byelection was held as the sitting candidate Eatala Rajender resigned from the assembly. “All the counting agents must be double vaccinated and if not, they have to get the RTPCR test results. Counting will begin at 8 am and all the Covid-19 guidelines will be strictly followed at the counting centre,” said Goel.

The counting will take place in two halls in Karimnagar.
