'Bye bye Jose' - Arsenal fans mock Tottenham amid Champions League horror show vs RB Leipzig

Arsenal fans are revelling in Tottenham's likely exit from the Champions League at the round of 16 stage vs RB Leipzig.

Spurs went into the second leg of the game against the Bundesliga side trailing 1-0 and looking to turn the tie around and make it to the quarter final of the competition.

Despite a bright start from Jose Mourinho's team, the game didn't start as planned when Marcel Sabitzer's shot from outside of the area found its way past Hugo Lloris to double the German side's advantage.

Timo Werner thought that he had doubled Leipzig's advantage just a couple of minutes later when he tapped the ball in, only to be denied by the assistant referee's flag.

But Leipzig wouldn't be denied when Sabitzer again beat Lloris at his near post with a well taken header.

That means that should Spurs wish to make it through to the quarter final they would have to score three second-half goals without reply.

A task that will be made harder given the absence of main talismen Harry Kane and Son Heung-min through injury. Spurs are also without January signing Steven Bergwijn through injury.

During the first-half of the game, Arsenal fans took to social media to revel in Tottenham's misery.

Tottenham did manage a comeback in their run to the Champions League final last season, when a Lucas Moura hat trick overturned Ajax's 2-0 lead in the semi-final.

However, a repeat of that now looks unlikely with Leipzig carrying a bigger advantage in the tie.

Spurs are next in action when they take on Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
