Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's appointment as Arsenal club captain was celebrated by fans but according to The Athletic it has not been accepted by all at the club.
Aubameyang was confirmed Arsenal captain after Granit Xhaka's incident with fans against Crystal Palace resulted in the Swiss losing the armband.
The Gabonese striker, who has netted eight Premier League goals this season, has a more friendly relationship with Arsenal fans but that is what is believed to be rubbing people within the club the wrong way.
In particular, it is the relationships he has built with contributors on AFTV which has caused friction.
According to The Athletic, it has been claimed that complains were lodged against Aubameyang for inviting AFTV contributor 'Troopz' to watch games in his executive box. The box is located around those of other players who allow access to the box to family and friends.
When explaining why he had chosen the 30-year-old to be captain, Emery gave no indication that there were any doubts over the appointment.
"Aubameyang is first (captain) because he is experienced and he has the respect of the dressing room," the Spaniard said.
"He was the top scorer last year in the league and I know he needs time to take that responsibility 100% but we will support him.
"Every player will support every captain and we are going to support him as first captain because he took a step ahead to take that responsibility."
Despite Aubameyang being one of Arsenal's star players since his arrival at the club, fans haven't taken this news lying down.
