Byan Gil, Ryan Sessegnon: Latest Tottenham injury news ahead of Everton clash

The Antonio Conte era is underway at Tottenham and his first Premier League clash comes later today when he takes his side to Everton.

Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm of the club following a humbling 3-0 defeat to Manchester United last weekend and Thursday's 3-2 win against Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League marked his first victory in north London.

During his time at Chelsea the Italian boasted an impressive record against Everton, not losing a single game to the Toffees, and the serial winner be expecting to continue that run.

Ahead of kick-off, Conte has a fit squad to choose from but a couple of injury problems continue to persist. With that in mind, football.london takes you through the latest news.

Bryan Gil

Gil's impact since arriving in the summer has largely been limited to cameo appearances and he was forced off through injury against Burnley in the Carabao Cup just over a week ago.

At this moment in time, it is unclear what injury the young playmaker has sustained, but some suggestions on social media have alluded to a hamstring problem.

What Espirito Santo previously said: "He's on ice and he is being assessed. There's not much more so let's wait to the proper assessment."

Expected return date: Unknown.

Have your say on Antonio Conte's appointment in the short survey below.

Ryan Sessegnon

Sessegnon has been missing for Spurs since sustaining an injury whilst on England U21 duty last month.

What Espirito Santo previously said: "We don't know [when he will return]. They [Sessegnon and Steven Bergwijn] are improving, day by day."

Expected return date: Unknown.
