By-election called to fill vacancy on Nottinghamshire council

A by-election has been called to fill a councillor vacancy in West Bridgford.

A request has been received by the Returning Officer for an election to go-ahead to fill the vacancy for the Musters Ward on Rushcliffe Borough Council.

It means an election will take place on Thursday, October 7, if contested.

A Notice of Election was published on Thursday (September 2).

Prospective candidates have until 4pm on Friday, September 10, to submit nomination papers.

The prospective councillor would work alongside Councillor Rod Jones, who represents the Musters Ward for the Liberal Democrats on the authority.

For further information on the election, or to request a candidates’ pack, contact Tom Short, Senior Electoral Services Officer, on 0115 914 8515 or by email to elections@rushcliffe.gov.uk
