Despite FlyQuest delivering the deepest run of any Western team at MSI 2025, North American League of Legends fans remain skeptical of the region’s overall strength—a familiar sentiment that lingers even in the face of rare international success.
“If you’re an NA fan, trust me on this, (there are) good teams,” Bwipo said in an interview with Travis Gafford. “These are the teams (Cloud9 and Team Liquid) that are competitive with us back home, I definitely don’t think you can sleep on them,” he said, adding that Cloud9 had given them a real run for their money domestically and likely would have performed just as well as FlyQuest did at MSI 2025.

After League‘s LTA rebrand, the seeds from North America have been divided, with one seed for the North and another for the South. FlyQuest won the LTA North 2025 Split 2, earning a group stage seed for the tournament, while FURIA won the LTA South Split 2—but they couldn’t make it past the play-in stage.
While expectations aren’t sky-high among North American fans, FlyQuest managed to upset G2 Esports at MSI 2025 and came close to toppling BLG, pushing the series to a decisive final game. As Bwipo and FlyQuest now aim to leave their mark at the ongoing Esports World Cup, they’ll have to navigate a gauntlet of strong international competition. Cloud9 have already eliminated FURIA in the lower bracket.
After a respectable showing at MSI 2025, NA returns for Worlds 2025 with two seeds. Fans will expect nothing less than a deeper run this time, with hopes that NA can take down some of the tournament’s biggest names and restore some of the region’s long-lost glory on the international stage.
