BVAC Classic to celebrate the "Best of the 70s"

YOU can transport yourself back to the 70s at one of Scotland’s top classic car shows this year.

That’s because the BVAC Classic festival of motoring – organised by the Borders Vintage Automobile Club – will be celebrating the cool decade with a “Best of the 70s” theme.

As well as the likes of MG sports cars, you can expect to see a host of “modern” classics launched in the 70s, such as Range Rovers, VW Golfs and even Ford Fiestas.

There will also be iconic cars that featured in TV shows and films and a special display area for that true child of the 70s, the Triumph Stag, which celebrates its 50th birthday this year.

And both car owners and visitors are being encouraged to dig out their flares, hot pants, platforms, safari jackets and double denim outfits, and dress up in the fashions of the era.

The BVAC Classic is being held at Thirlestane Castle, near Lauder, on Sunday, June 7. Go to www.bvacclassic.com for details.
