MIAMI _ Going to the Super Bowl is a lot like having a child _ it's an amazing experience, but your wallet will never be the same.
Ticket prices have skyrocketed in the 10 years since Miami last hosted the Super Bowl. In 2010, the average price was $900 for a seat, according to Bleacher Report. Now, if the trend holds, they'll be more than double that.
Still, if you're one of the lucky few whose bank account can stand the hit, make sure you make the purchase from a reputable source. Tickets can be mainly purchased through one of four places: Vivid Seats, NFL, StubHub and Ticketmaster.
The Super Bowl will be played in February at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Those looking just to experience the big game can get a ticket for just over $3,300 through Vivid Seats thanks to a 10% off promotion. These seats are located in the 300 level end zone and come with zero amenities.
For just another $1,200, buyers can sit in anywhere in the 300 level but gain entry to the Touchdown Club. These tickets, which range in price from $4,500 to $6,300, include a tailgate party with unlimited drinks and NFL legend appearances. Just be sure to make these purchases through either the NFL, Ticketmaster or Stubhub.
The step above the Touchdown Club is 54 Live. A combination of live entertainment and free food and drink, 54 Live tickets start at about $7,000.
Then there's the Legends experience. Similar to 54 Live, these tickets include the entertainment and free nourishment but also come with a level of privacy and exclusive perks like the ability to party at the in-stadium club.
Looking to ball out? No problem _ you'll probably be best suited for the 72 Club, where tickets can run as high as $31,500 apiece.
Now you're probably wondering if the 72 Club seats come with a complementary Super Bowl ring. Unfortunately, the answer is no _ but the $25,000 price tag does buy seats on the 50-yard line, and comes with free food and drinks, as well as meet-and-greets with NFL legends, athletes and celebrities. You'll also be allowed on the field to join in the post-game celebration.
The NFL also offers packages for those who don't want to worry about about a thing. Buyers of the so-called Hall of Fame Experience can choose from seven areas and six hotels for about $7,750 to $17,150. Packages also include access to an autograph session, a pre-game party and the Gold Jacket Terrace.
If the price tag hasn't scared you off yet, start making plans now. Feb. 2 will be here before you know it.
