Buttermarket beauty business owner on her move to Erneside over Christmas

A Co Fermanagh beauty entrepreneur has spoken of her pride in opening a pop up shop in the Erneside shopping centre as she seeks to branch out her products.

Shauna Gallagher is the founder of The Natural Beauty Pot, which sells all natural skincare products as well as candles and other natural items.

The business has been based in the Buttermarket for the last seven years but Shauna got the opportunity to run a pop up in the Enniskillen shopping centre in recent weeks.

“I have been in the Buttermarket for seven years, and I still have people who come in and say that I must be new,” Shauna told MyFermanagh.

“A huge part of the pop up is trying to get seen by different people, and to be a wee bit more accessible to people.

“We’re here for four weeks and we were lucky enough to get the opportunity with the help of Enniskillen BID.”

Shauna added that she first set up her business due to recurrent issues she faced with her own skin, and wanted to explore more natural ways of treating it.

“I’ve always had really sensitive skin and I studied beauty therapy thinking that you never see a beauty therapist with bad skin,” she said.

“As a child I could only use certain washing powders and certain bath products would make me come out in rashes.

“It was always something I was very conscious of, and whenever I studied beauty therapy somebody recommended what was thought to be natural and when I did a bit of research I found that it really wasn’t.

“I don’t know whether it was my naivety or stubbornness, but I thought it can’t be that hard and I will make my own.

“It has evolved a lot since I opened 12 years ago, I rebranded three or four years ago and you learn a lot as you bring things to market.”

The local entrepreneur said it was heartwarming to see the support local businesses have been given in recent times.

“It’s lovely that people want to spend their money with you and we have had some customers come in and spend their whole £100 Spend Local voucher with us.

“During the lockdowns, while they were hard, people really came out in force to support small businesses, and I absolutely felt that.”
