Car wrecked in horror crash with Edinburgh bus as emergency services shut down busy road

Emergency services have shut down a busy Edinburgh road after a horror crash involving a car and a bus.

Cops and fire crews raced to the smash on Glasgow Road at around 7pm on Tuesday night, October 26.

The two-vehicle collision involved a car and a Lothian Bus.

Photos from the scene showed significant damage sustained to one car, which is surrounded by emergency crews.

It's understood emergency services remain at the busy road, with the route closed off to the public.

Police confirmed there are reports of people being injured although the extent of these injuries is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7pm, police received a report of a road traffic collision involving a car and a bus on Glasgow Road, Edinburgh.

"Emergency services are on the scene and there are reports of people being injured. The road is currently closed as officers deal with the incident and carry out enquiries."
