Busy scenes in Nottingham's Old Market Square as life starts to get back to normal

It's been a busy afternoon in Nottingham as large crowds of shoppers descended on the city centre.

There were busy scenes as huge swathes of people shopped and visited venues across the city on Saturday, April 24.

Many could be seen carrying Primark bags, our reporter said.

Groups could also be seen enjoying the sun on the steps in Market Square

It's been almost two weeks since non-essential retail reopened on April 12.

Large queues of shoppers waiting outside Primark to grab a bargain is now a common sight.

Nottingham's hospitality industry has also been welcoming back punters, with groups of six or two households now able to meet and use outdoor seating areas.

There's still a few weeks to go before indoor mixing is due to be allowed, with the Government yet to confirm if the next step of the roadmap will be approved for the expected May 17 date.
