A busy road in North Somerset is to remain closed for the rest of the week due to a gas leak.
The A371 Woodborough Road in Winscombe was closed yesterday after a gas leak was discovered.
Wales & West Utilities are on site to deal with the leak.
The road is expected to remain closed until Friday (January 31) and a diversion has been put in place.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times. The A371 is a busy link into the village of Winscombe.
A North Somerset Council spokesman said: “Wales & West Utilities has had to close A371 Woodborough Road, Winscombe, to fix a gas leak.

“A signed diversion route is in place.
“The road is likely to be shut until Friday (31 January). “
