Busy road closed in both directions after crash during rush hour

A MAJOR road was closed in both directions during rush hour after a collision.

At around 7.45am on Monday, the A702 was closed between between Hillend and Easter Howgate.

Traffic Scotland said a road traffic incident had taken place as it warned road users to take an alternative route.

The road was shut for nearly two hours, with the northbound route open at 8.20am.

The road fully reopened at around 9.15am.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
