Busy Nottinghamshire road to close in January for level crossing works

A busy Nottinghamshire road is to close overnight for two nights in January for vital level crossing works.

Victoria Road, in Netherfield/Carlton, will be closed 20 metres either side of the level crossing later this month for the works.

Works will be carried out overnight to minimise disruption.

The road will be closed from 11pm on Tuesday, January 19 until 6am on Wednesday, January 20.

It will then be closed from 11pm on January 20 until 6am on January 21.

There is a temporary ban of all traffic from passing, including pedestrians, emergency services and gritters.

Alternative routes are in place.

For northbound traffic divert via Wright Street – Kenrick Street – Morris Street – Forester Road – Victoria Road – Colwick Loop Road – Burton Road – Manor Road and Station Road.

For southbound traffic divert via Station Road – Manor Road – Burton Road – Colwick Loop Road and Victoria Road.

The work is being carried out by TMS Ltd for Network Rail.
