Busy north Bristol roundabout to close overnight for two weeks

A major roundabout north of the city will be closed overnight for two weeks while resurfacing work is carried out.

Abbeywood roundabout on the A4174 near Filton will be closed to all traffic between 8pm and 6am from Monday, September 9 to Tuesday, September 24.

South Gloucestershire Council Streetcare team has said the closure is to allow the authority to carry out “major resurfacing of the roundabout”.

A signed diversion will be in place during the closure and access to properties will be maintained.

This includes access to Abbey Wood Shopping Park where Asda, McDonald’s and Snap Fitness gym are open 24 hours.

The council has said it will make “every effort to minimise disruption and apologise for the inconvenience caused”.
