Busy night for police dealing with suspected drink drivers... the queue for the breathalyser was 'bigger than the queue for Greggs'

A suspected drunk driver crashed their car, at the spot where police officers were already dealing with another suspected drunk driver.

Police in Stockport have shared details of their busy Saturday night, which included pulling five suspected drunk drivers in a row - as well as a suspected drug driver.

They said they pulled so many people suspected of the offence that the queue for their intoxilyzer machine (breathalyser) was 'bigger than the queue for Greggs'.

In one incident, a driver hit a traffic island in front of police who were already dealing with another motorist.

The motorists they pulled over blew readings which put them at between three and five times the drink drive limit.

Police wrote on Facebook: "Fairly quick start to the night shift with two separate arrests for attempted burglary and possession of a controlled drug.
