A BUSY section of the A9 in the Highlands has been closed due to an ongoing “police incident” with motorists urged to avoid the area.
The A9 between Inverness and Thurso has been closed to traffic at Dalmore Farm since around 9am on Saturday.
In a post on social media Traffic Scotland confirmed that both the northbound and southbound lanes have been closed.
Drivers have been urged to seek alternative routes and that delays are to be expected.
The statement from Traffic Scotland said: “A9 Is Closed at Dalmore Farm due to an ongoing Police incident.
“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.”
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
