Busy link roads between A370 and A38 to close for five nights

A busy route between two major North Somerset commuter routes is to close for five nights for repairs.

Congresbury High Street and Brinsea Road B3133 – a busy link between the A370 and A38 – is to close for five nights from February 5.

The work is costing £35,000 and involves new lining, ironwork repairs, vegetation removal, sign cleaning and gully emptying/maintenance.

The road will be closed from the junction with Bristol Road (A370) through to its junction with Venus Street between 8pm and 6am.

At the same time, temporary traffic signals and a lane closure will be in place on the A370 between Station Road and Tesco Express to allow for the work on the junction to be completed safely.

North Somerset Council executive member for highways Councillor James Tonkin said a night time road closure was being used to minimise disruption.

Councillor Tonkin said: "We appreciate that this is a busy route between the A370 and A38 but we need to complete these essential works.

“As a result we are using a night closure between 8pm and 6am to minimise disruption. We would urge people to be patient while these essential works are completed."
