Busy Friday 13th for fire crews as crashes and fires occur across the county

Firefighters spent a busy Friday the 13th dealing with a number of incidents across the county including a crash in Mapperley with three casualties.

The first incident they were called out on was at 9.41pm on Mansfield Road, Clipstone. Firefighters fought a caravan blaze.

The caravan was "well alight" and had spread to nearby buildings.

They had to use two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one main jet to put out the fire.

The second incident was at 10.39pm in Beechdale Road in Bilborough.

Fire crews attended a crash and the driver was released from the vehicle before they arrived.

Crews made the vehicle safe and East Midlands Ambulance Service and Nottinghamshire Police took over.

Then at 11.51pm, crews from Arnold and Stockhill were called to a crash in Mansfield Road in Mapperley.

The incident involved two cars and three casualties were released.

The fire service also assisted police at 11.13pm after a crash between a vehicle and a building in Woodend, Rhodesia.

One of the biggest fires of the evening was at 12.32am in Kirk Lane, Ruddington.

Fire crews from West Bridgford, Highfields, London Road and East Leake stations attended a derelict building fire.

Two hose reels, one main jet and an aerial ladder platform were used to fight the fire.

The last call of the evening came in at 2.58am, which was a false alarm, which was a suspected house fire in Mansfield.
