Busy Dublin street closed off as eyewitness says man is on top of one of streets biggest buildings

A busy Dublin city centre street is currently closed while gardai and emergency services deal with an ongoing incident.

North Frederick Street, just off Dorset Street, on the north side of the city centre remains closed with an eye witness telling Dublin Live that a man is on top of the building refusing to come down.

It is alleged the man is on top of one of the buildings beside Saint Saviour's Choice Church, which is located just around the corner from the Garden of Rememberance.

An eyewitness told Dublin Live: 'They have a negotiator dealing with the situation.

'The man is sitting on the roof of one of the buildings.

'He has been up on the building for more than a half hour and the emergency services are still trying to negotiate with him.'

A garda spokeswoman confirmed to Dublin Live that both An Garda Siochana and Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene and attempting to diffuse the situation.
