Busy commuter route into Bristol to close overnight for up to two weeks

A busy commuter route into Bristol is to close overnight for up to two weeks for roadworks to be carried out.

A 2.7km section of the A369 Martcombe Road between the junction of Rectory Road through to its Pill Road junction with Sandy Lane is to close on December 2.

The A369 is a busy route in and out of Bristol from Portishead and is used by thousands of people each day commuting into the city.

The closure – which will be operational from Monday to Friday - will be in place between 8pm and 6am and a diversion will be put in place.

The road closure is for up to a period of two weeks but it is hoped the work will be completed within five to seven days.

“This is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance works.”

A diversion route will operate during the closure times.

The diversion will  be: The Portbury Hundred, Portbury Common, Bristol Road, B3124 (Clevedon Road), B3124 (Walton Road), B3130 (Tickenham Road), B3130 (Clevedon Road), B3128 (Tickenham Hill), B3128 (Clevedon Road), B3129 (Beggar Bush Lane), A369 (Abbots Leigh Road), A369 (Pill Road) and vice versa.

Access will be maintained for businesses and residents but the point of entry will reflect the location of the works in progress.
