A busy commuter route between Nailsea and Bristol is to close for five days later this month.
The B3130 Bristol Road at Wraxall is to close from 9am on Monday, October 28 until around 5pm on November 1.
It will be a round the clock closure.
The road closure will be in place from The Grove by the Battleaxes Pub for 400 metres in the Bristol direction.
A diversion will be put in place in place during the closure via Clevedon Road, Tickenham Hill and Belmont Hill.
Access will be maintained for residents. The closure will also affect some bus services.
The closure is being put in place to allow Gigclear to lay fibre-optic cables.
The A370 Long Ashton bypass is also due to close from Monday, October 14 for five nights from 8pm to 5am.
The road will be shut from Colliters Way to the Bristol boundary.
A signed version will be put in place and access to the park and ride and David Lloyd Leisure Centre will be maintained throughout the closure.
The road closure is needed to carry out vital maintenance to the busy route, used by thousands of commuters in and out of Bristol each day.
The work – costing £76,000 - includes bridge repairs, clearing vegetation, drain cleaning and repairs and refreshing the road markings.
Work to upgrade the street lighting to the latest state of the art LED technology will also be carried out.
