Busy Bristol commuter route to close for five days

A busy commuter route into Bristol is to close for five days in January for drains to be improved.

The B3128 Clarken Coombe at Long Ashton will close from January 11 between 8am and 5pm for drainage improvement works.

The closure will be in place between Clevedon Road and Ashton Road.

The route is used by thousands of people each day as a route from North Somerset into the city.

A warning of the impending closure has been put out by North Somerset Council highways department.

The council said: “Advance warning - B3128 Clarken Coombe, Long Ashton will be closed on Monday 11th January for five days between 8:00am and 5:00pm to complete drainage improvement works.

“The road will be closed between Clevedon Road and Ashton Road.”

It is hoped that the tier 3 Government restrictions and the requirement to stay at home will mean traffic is lighter in the area.

Diversions will be put in place.
