Busy Ayrshire road completely closed in both directions as child knocked down

A North Ayrshire road has been closed both ways this afternoon as police deal with an incident.

Dalry Road in Kilwinning has been shut off completely due to a schoolchild being knocked down.

Drivers are urged to use an alretnative route if possible.

Traffic Scotland said: "A737 Dalry Road in Kilwinning - road closed both ways.

"Please use an alternative route until a diversion is established.

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
