A woman has pleaded guilty to burglary and stealing after making off with more than $50,000 worth of cosmetic drugs, including Botox, from a skin clinic in Western Australia.
Zoe McBride-Jones pleaded guilty in the Busselton Magistrates Court on Tuesday to one count of burglary and one count of stealing, including one of stealing Schedule 4 drugs.
The court was told Ms McBride-Jones took the drugs from the Naturaliste Skin Clinic, a beauty salon in the centre of the holiday town, on November 6 last year.
Botox is used to temporarily paralyse muscles and is commonly used for cosmetic purposes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Ms McBride-Jones spoke in court only to enter pleas of guilty.
Magistrate Michelle Harries told Ms McBride-Jones the matter would be sent to the district court for sentencing.
Magistrate Harries asked for a psychological report to be carried out before sentencing.
Public appeal
Ms McBride-Jones was charged after police issued a public appeal for information after the drugs were stolen late last year.
On November 10, police issued images and CCTV footage of a woman near the clinic.
Police had alleged that the offender got access to the clinic about 12:45pm on November 6 through a side window.
Ms McBride-Jones was charged soon afterwards.
She is due to appear in the Busselton District Court for sentencing later this year.
She made no comment when leaving court.
