Hukkeri police arrested Rafiq Budansab Tahashildar, a businessman, for firing gun shots in the air during a relative’s wedding in Elimunnoli village on March 30.
The accused loaded a pistol in front of guests and fired five rounds in the air. Some people shot videos of this incident and shared them on social media.
Police Sub-inspector Sidramappa Unnad has registered a case. Hukkeri police arrested Rafiq. He has been charged with violating licence conditions and Section 336 (rash and negligent act that could endanger human life) of the Indian Penal Code.
