A businessman dubbed the 'King of Marbella' is not competing to become the new owner of Notts County, the Post has been told.
John Disley, who was linked with investing in Blackpool last year, had been rumoured to be one of the parties looking to take over at Meadow Lane.
But it is understood he has never been in negotiations to buy the club which was put up for sale by chairman Alan Hardy at the end of January.
Disley had been in talks with Blackpool last year and was spotted at several games last season, but a deal never materialised.

In 2013, he was jailed for four-and-a-half years for £675,000 bank fraud as Preston Crown Court heard how he targeted companies that were in financial difficulty then stripped them of their assets.
But that conviction was later quashed at the Court of Appeal in 2017.
As well as being linked with Blackpool, Disley was also said to have shown an interest in Bolton Wanderers when he was pictured with Dean Holdsworth whose Sports Shield Consortium was launching their takeover of the Trotters.
But Disley, who is from Hertfordshire with offices in Preston, was understood to have never been part of that bid.
He earned his nickname 'King of Marbella' from ex-pats in Spain who saw him living a rich lifestyle, and he is reportedly worth £500m in property.
Nine years ago, he told a national newspaper he had built his empire by running the security on the doors of Manchester's nightclub scene.
