A businessman has been jailed after he attempted to rape a vulnerable girl who was "severely incapacitated" by alcohol.
Prosecutor Elen Owen said that James McGeown, 65, had been convicted of attempted rape and two counts of indecent assault by a majority verdict following a trial.
His victim had struggled to form relationships and has depression, the court heard. Maria Masselis, defending, invited the court to view the offences as one single episode and an "aberration", North Wales Live reports.

She said: "The complainant was severely intoxicated (but) it was not suggested that the defendant had administered that alcohol nor gave his permission for it to be taken."
Ms Masselis said that, until his convictions, her client was "regarded as a hard-working businessman and family man". She said: "He has lost everything as a result of these allegations and these convictions. His marriage was already in difficulties but these offences saw the end of it.
"He handed over his business to his then-wife. He no longer has a home in England at all."
The Recorder Wyn Lloyd-Jones told McGeown that the victim had been drinking and was "in any view particularly vulnerable". There was also a huge difference in ages between the two of them, he said.
He had not administered the alcohol but had shown no remorse for the offences to a probation officer and they were his own fault, said the judge. He added: "I do accept you have lost everything because of these offences and the convictions. But make no mistake - you committed these offences and you are responsible for everything that flows from them."
James McGeown, 65, of Commonhall Street, Chester, was jailed at Caernarfon Crown Court for six years for attempted rape, plus five years each for two indecent assaults, which will run concurrently. Sending McGeown to jail, he told him he would also be on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.
