Insurance broker Blackford has added two senior team members in Glasgow as it expands into a bigger office in Edinburgh.
Fiona Walker joins from TL Dallas as head of broking and operations, while Doug Prentice, joins from Marsh Commercial as a client director. They bring more than 65 years’ experience.
Blackford was set up in Glasgow in April by Tom Aldridge as a business risk specialist. The Edinburgh office was added in June, with a four-strong broker team managing 100 clients with a premium value of more than £3 million. It is backed by leading independent broker James Hallam and private investors.
Blackford says its client portfolio has since grown and aims to recruit another 14 people over the next three years. It is also taking on a bigger space at One Lochrin Square at Fountainbridge in the capital.
