AI-driven consumption
Eight government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, released guidelines to accelerate the integration of AI into consumption. The measures aim to boost AI consumption from both supply and demand sides, such as expanding the supply of smart terminals and penetrating consumer markets with robotics and brain-computer interfaces. The policy focuses on empowering public services in five key scenarios, including eldercare, while upgrading retail and logistics systems.
Platform regulation
Seven departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued a plan supporting platform companies in partnering with small and midsize enterprises to focus on future industries such as the low-altitude economy, commercial spaceflight, embodied AI, brain-computer interfaces and biomanufacturing. The plan guides platforms to reduce fees, optimize rules and help SMEs cut costs while rectifying intellectual property infringement and cutthroat competition.
