C919’s International Flights
The C919, China’s homegrown passenger jet, began flying Air China’s Beijing-Ulaanbaatar route Wednesday, marking the aircraft’s official entry into regular international commercial operations.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency expects the C919’s certification process to take three to six years, with approval possible as early as 2028, which could allow the aircraft to enter the European market and compete globally.
Massive Urban Renewal Plan
China has rolled out a five-year, 15 trillion-yuan urban renewal project that involves renovating 115,000 old residential complexes and upgrading about 500,000 units of dilapidated urban housing.
The plan clarifies the funding mechanism, stipulating that beneficiaries should contribute funds and that the project will operate through a diversified model involving government guidance, market operations and public participation.
U.S. Revokes TikTok Ban
The White House revoked a 2023 directive restricting TikTok use on government devices in a memo released Monday, Bloomberg reported.
