Business adviser's nod to market town beginnings with new build office naming

A 10,000 sq ft office development in Louth has been named with a nod to the owner’s origins in the town.

Accountancy practice and business adviser Duncan & Toplis has joined law firm tenant Wilkin Chapman at Oxley House on Fairfield Industrial Estate.

The name was revealed at a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with office director Rachel Barrett doing the honours. It is recognition of the firm’s acquisition of Oxley Coxon in 2007, which brought it to the Lincolnshire market town as the East Midlands footprint was expanded.

She was joined by her team and representatives of the Grimsby-headquartered law firm, who moved in last month, as reported.

Ms Barrett said: “The opening of our new premises in Louth is a landmark moment for Duncan & Toplis. I am absolutely delighted with how the office is looking and we can’t wait to welcome colleagues and clients to the new premises.

“Since we acquired our original Louth office and Oxley Coxon accountancy in 2007, we’ve supported hundreds of businesses in the area and our team members in the town have supported many, many clients across both the Wolds and globally. In recognition of the company that helped us to grow our Louth operations, we’ve named the office Oxley House, which I think is a fitting nod to our past as we commit to our future in the area.

“This new office is a major investment which underlines our dedication to the region and it creates a fit for the future working environment for our team members, many of whom live in and around the town. Our expanding team meant that we were outgrowing our old offices, so this is far more suitable for our colleagues, our clients and the local community.”

Built by Lincoln-based Stirlin Developments with hybrid working in mind, Oxley House is described as offering a contemporary, open-plan office space. The storey office also has a 61-space car park.

Wilkin Chapman has consolidated its Louth and Horncastle teams as part of the move. Claire Parker-Robson, partner and head of the new Wolds office, said: “We are thrilled to have moved into our new offices in Louth and to now be joined by our friends at Duncan & Toplis. The move represents our continued commitment to the Lincolnshire Wolds area, giving us a space that will allow for improved collaboration and communication between our colleagues and clients. There’s also plenty of parking, something which we weren’t previously able to offer.”

Duncan & Toplis, named ICAEW East Midlands Large Accountancy Firm of the Year since 2017, has 11 offices across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, with almost 500 team members.

Wilkin Chapman has 47 partners and more than 350 employees, with further offices in addition to the Grimsby headquarters in Lincoln and Beverley.
