Two Victorian tourists who went missing while bushwalking in north Queensland last night have been found.

A search resumed this morning for the 21-year-olds after the alert was first raised about 6:30pm Friday.

They had been walking with a man, also 21, on Lambs Head trail near Mareeba when poor weather set in.

The man turned back to collect their car and he alerted police about 7:00pm.

Officers searched nearby bushland on foot until 3:00am Saturday morning, however, they were unable to find the women.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the women were found about 10:00am on Saturday and retrieved by the Rescue 510 helicopter.

The women did not need to be taken to hospital.
