Bushfire contained after threatening lives, homes near Denmark on WA's south coast

An emergency warning has been downgraded for a bushfire that was threatening lives and homes just a few kilometres from the town of Denmark on Western Australia's south coast.

The warning was for people in an area bounded by South Coast Highway, Sea Change Close, Woodward Heights and the inlet, in the southern part of Hay in the Shire of Denmark.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) downgraded the warning to advice level after firefighters contained the blaze.

People in the area are being urged to keep up to date in case the situation changes.
