Bushfire earrings raise money for Cobargo

Bushfire appeal earrings by Dented Diva.

How gorgeous are these earrings? They are a special tribute to the Rural Fire Service and being sold to raise funds for the Cobargo community.

Christie Bavage, of the Dented Diva label, made the earrings with the image of a firefighter and koala and the inspirational message "We will rise from the ashes".

Christie lives in Pottsville in northern NSW. Her parents Mark and Judy Eglington have been members of the NSW Rural Fire Service for more than 30 years and Mark was seconded to fight the bushfires at Cobargo over summer.

"He came home very upset and distraught and said it was the worst he'd seen in his firefighting career," Christie said.

Her parents started fundraising for Cobargo so Christie pitched in, creating the sweet earrings.

Her fundraising has gone to the local RFS and to pay for a meal or coffee for someone in need, via Kitchenboys cafe in Cobargo.

The earrings are still available at denteddiva.com.au.
