A fire that had been burning at emergency level in parts of Bullsbrook and Melaleuca, in the City of Swan in Perth's north-east has been downgraded.

A watch and act remains in place for people bounded by Neaves Road to the north, Tonkin Highway to the east, Cooper Road to the south and Strawberry place to the west.

The fire had been posing a threat to lives and homes, but authorities said it is now stationary and contained, but not controlled.

They warned burning embers are likely to be blown around homes.

At the peak, about 150 career and volunteer firefighters were battling the blaze.

The blaze started near the intersection of Asher Road and Della North Road in Bullsbrook, and was first reported around 2:14pm on Saturday.

Authorities said 77 hectares had been burnt.

A second watch and act warning applies to residents near the Moondyne Convention Centre in the central and southern parts of Avon Valley National Park.

The fire, which started near the intersection of Thirty Seven Mile Break and the Avon River, is moving quickly and conditions are changing.
