Buses 'unable to access' Edinburgh Bus Station due to broken down lorry

Buses are currently unable to access Edinburgh Bus Station due to a broken down lorry.

Commuters heading to catch a bus from the busy station during rush-hour are being advised to jump on at different stops.

The incident has been ongoing since around 4:30pm and is affecting a raft of services - including the 900 Citylink service to Glasgow.

Scottish Citylink said: "SERVICE DISRUPTION: Due to a broken down lorry blocking the entrance/exit of Edinburgh Bus Station all 900 services will terminate & depart from North Saint David Street until further notice."

Meanwhile, Stagecoach East Scotland said: "We are currently unable to access or depart Edinburgh Bus Station at this time. Services X 59 & X61 will start from St Andrews square until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

One disgruntled customer said: "Passengers at Edinburgh bus station were told ALL Fife buses were starting from there and those going to Dalgety Bay weren’t pleased to see their bus driving past them."
