Buses will run as normal in East Belfast tonight after services were forced to stop last week due to disorder.
MP Gavin Robinson has said that he has engaged with Translink regarding the bus and Glider services in his constituency, which were suspended last week after rioting in other parts of the city.
After a bus was burnt out on the Shankill Road on Wednesday, bus drivers came together and said they would not operate in certain parts of the city after a certain time if there was the potential for trouble.
On Thursday and Friday the bus and Glider service in East Belfast and areas of the city were suspended from just after 5pm.
Gavin Robinson said: "I have engaged again today with Translink and understand that both today & this evening, bus/glider services will operate normally in East Belfast. Good news."
Translink have said that they are expecting disruption to some services tonight with the 11 and 12 bus routes being suspended from 6pm.
A Translink spokesperson said: “The safety of all passengers and employees is top priority. We are working closely with the PSNI and keeping the situation under continuing review. We are expecting some level of precautionary diversion to some services this evening. All up to date timetable information is available on our website: www.translink.co.uk/service-updates”
Over the weekend, planned protests and parades were called to be cancelled or postponed following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh on Friday.
