Buses delayed by almost an hour after Derby Road closed for repairs

Buses in Nottingham are being delayed by more than 50 minutes after Derby Road was closed.

Derby Road is closed heading into the city between the QMC Island and Gregory Street for emergency gas leak repairs.

Nottingham City Transport has said its Orange 34, 35, 36 and N34 buses will divert towards the city via Abbey Street and Gregory Street.

Severe traffic delays have built around the QMC due to the road closure.

A statement from NCT said: "There are delays of over 50+minutes on Orange 34, 35, 36 and Grey 53/54 due to the partial closure of Derby Road.

"Please accept our apologies for the extended wait times. Derby Road will be closed until Friday rush hour - please allow more time if travelling over the next few days."

Nottingham University Hospitals has urged people travelling to QMC to allow extra time due to the traffic.
