Residents are "very lucky" not to be badly injured in the wake of a bus driver veering off the road and crashing into two homes in north-western Sydney, causing major damage to the homes.
The charter bus crashed into two homes on Epping Road in North Ryde just before midday on Saturday.
Two women in one of the houses suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
A man in the other house was also injured but did not require hospital treatment.
The driver was not seriously injured; however, he was taken to hospital for routine checks and mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Sam Jiang's relatives live inside one of the houses and said it was "pretty scary" to see the damage.
"It's not like it happens every day," Mr Jiang said.
Inspector Steven Moran, duty commander for Parramatta Fire and Rescue, said it was "very lucky" no-one was seriously injured in the crash.
"The luckiest thing is that the bus was unoccupied except for the driver. There were no people on the bus which made the incident a lot less complicated," he said.
"Both houses have received significant structural damage and will need to be assessed by an engineer."
Asbestos was found in the damaged houses so there were safety precautions being taken on the crash site.
The bus was removed from the scene by a tow truck.
