Bus stolen and driven through Scots town

A bus was stolen and driven around a Scots town in a dramatic incident last night.

The massive vehicle was taken from Hanover Street in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire around 9.35pm last night.

Police launched a hunt and later traced it to the north-east town's College Bounds- less than half a mile away.

Cops have confirmed they have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the incident.

A picture from the scene shows the vehicle parked up on a pavement while onlookers gather to watch the drama unfold.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Record the man had been released pending further enquiries.

He said: “Around 9.35pm on Saturday, 18 September, officers received a report of a bus being stolen from Hanover Street in Fraserburgh.

"It was later traced in the College Bounds area and a 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

"He has been released pending further enquiries, which remain ongoing."
