Bus routes affected after 'major road closure' in Bristol city centre

Heavy congestion is expected in Bristol city centre this evening due to a 'major road closure'.

First Bus has issued a statement on Twitter to say the closure arose after a 'technical difficulty with a vehicle', which has affected a number of bus routes.

The statement says the bus stops on College Green and at the top of Park Street will not be serviced while the road closure is in place.

In full, the statement reads: "Due to a technical difficulty with a vehicle there is a major road closure in Bristol.

"All services are using Park Street outbound & diverted via Anchor Road and Jacobs Wells Road.

"College green bus stop and Top of Park street will not be serviced.

"The closest stop for College Green is Anchor Road or the City centre and for the top of Park Street is the Triangle West."

Traffic monitoring system Inrix is not currently showing any information about heavy traffic in the city centre.
